Job summary

COREnergy, Inc. serves as the in-house legal resource, supporting the company’s retail electricity supply business and various energy services lines. The role focuses on review, negotiation, and lifecycle management of commercial contracts, along with regulatory compliance across Philippine authorities.

The attorney will identify and mitigate legal risks in commercial and operational activities while maintaining governance and risk controls within the organization.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a JD/LL.B. from a recognized institution.
• Active membership in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines is required, notarial commission a plus.
• 1–3 years post-admission experience in corporate/commercial practice; strong drafting and negotiation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate, and lifecycle manage the company’s commercial contracts.
• Provide regulatory compliance support across DOE, ERC, SEC, BOI, and PCAB.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in commercial and operational activities.

Job description

Responsible as the in house legal resource of COREnergy, Inc., providing contracts, regulatory, governance, and risk management support across the company's retail electricity supply business and its adjacent energy services and value added services lines. The role is principally accountable for the review, negotiation support, and lifecycle management of the company's commercial contracts; for regulatory compliance across the Department of Energy (DOE), Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Board of Investments (BOI), and Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB); and for the identification and mitigation of legal risk in the company's commercial and operational activities.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws from a recognized institution.
• Member in good standing of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines
• Active Notarial commission is an advantage.
• 1 - 3 years of Post admission experience in corporate and commercial practice, with substantial exposure in contract drafting, review and negotiation.
• Experience in energy sector or in another regulated industry is preferred. Familiarity with the retail electricity supply framework is a distinct advantage.
