Job summary

MELCO RESORTS & ENTERTAINMENT PHILIPPINES seeks a Legal Counsel, Labor & Employment to provide guidance on employment law, labor relations, and workplace standards. Qualifications

• Admitted to practice as a Lawyer.
• Minimum of three (3) year-experience in a law firm or in-house work.
• Highly computer literate.

Responsibilities

• Provides legal advice to Management on employment-related issues.
• Monitors labor legislation to ensure compliance.
• Acts as panel member in fact-finding conferences and administrative hearings for Code of Conduct violations and issues decisions on behalf of Management.
• Represents the Company in negotiations with labor unions, and provides legal support in collective bargaining processes, grievance handling, and labor-management cooperation.
• Reviews employment contracts, HR policies, Code of Conduct, separation agreements, and disciplinary notices to ensure legal soundness and internal consistency.
• Coordinates with External Counsel or handles representation in labor-related disputes before DOLE, NLRC, and other tribunals, including drafting pleadings and position papers; prepares case status reports.
• Executes management actions involving hiring, transfer, suspension, layoff, recall, discharge, reassignment, or discipline of employees, and other tasks as assigned.

REQ15099 Legal Counsel, Labor & Employment (Open Date: 23/09/2026) POSITION SUMMARY: The Legal Counsel, Labor & Employment under the supervision of the Senior Legal Counsel, Compliance, Regulatory & Gaming Operations and under the direction of the Vice President, Legal Affairs Philippines is responsible for providing legal guidance and support on employment law, labor relations, and workplace standards to ensure compliance with Philippine laws and internal policies. Legal Counsel, Labor & Employment will oversee legal matters related to employee relations, policy development, disciplinary actions, employment contracts, labor disputes, and collective bargaining. He / She will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Management, and External Counsel to proactively manage legal risks and foster a fair, lawful, and productive work environment.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Provides legal advice to Management on employment-related issues.
2. Monitors labor legislation to ensure the Company's compliance.
3. Serves as a panel member in fact-finding conferences and administrative hearings for Code of Conduct violations and issue decisions on behalf of Management.
4. Represents the Company in negotiations and consultations with labor unions, and provide legal support in collective bargaining processes, grievance handling, and labor-management cooperation.
5. Reviews employment contracts, HR policies, Code of Conduct, separation agreements, and disciplinary notices to ensure legal soundness and consistency with internal practices.
6. Coordinates with External Counsel or handle representation in labor-related disputes before administrative bodies such as the Department of Labor and Employment, the National Labor Relations Commission, and other relevant tribunals, including drafting or reviewing pleadings, position papers, and attending hearings; monitor all labor cases handled by External Counsel, and prepare case status reports of pending cases.
7. Executes management actions involving hiring, transfer, suspension, layoff, recall, discharge, reassignment, or discipline of employees, and carry out all other relevant tasks as may be assigned by the Vice President, Legal Affairs Philippines and/or the Senior Legal Counsel, Compliance, Regulatory & Gaming Operations from time to time.

Qualifications

• Experience:
  • Admitted to practice as a Lawyer
  • Minimum of three (3) year-experience in a law firm or in-house work
  • Highly computer literate
• Education:
  • Graduate with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) from a reputable Law School.
