Job summary

DHL Group’s Legal Services in APAC is seeking a full-time, permanent lawyer in Makati City, Philippines. You will develop and implement legal processes to identify and mitigate risks, providing strategic advice to all divisions and business units.

The role requires strong legal practice experience and the ability to work within a matrix organization. You will collaborate with regional and global teams, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and support negotiations and

Qualifications

• University law degree required.
• Professional law qualifications preferred or required.
• 4 years of legal practice in either a commercial law firm or in-house department preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to apply legal knowledge to business contexts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks for DHL Group in APAC.
• Provide strategic legal advice to all Divisions/Business Units in the Philippines.
• Manage legal processes with limited supervision and deliver business-focused legal solutions.

We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in APAC at Makati City, Philippines.

Your tasks.

Develop and implement legal processes and procedures to identify and mitigate legal risks and protect DHL Group’s legal and business interests in line with business needs, established legal framework, standards, applicable laws and regulations; provide strategic legal advice and support to all Divisions/Business Units (BUs) in the Philippines; manage legal processes and perform duties independently with limited supervision; provide business-oriented legal solutions on wide range of matters of varying complexities.

Your profile.

• Evaluate activities, policies, practices, and transactions in the country to ensure they comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Advises management team on legal trends and developing areas of law.
• Accountable to management team for all legal matters in area of responsibility.
• Provide a comprehensive ""one stop shop"" for legal services to one or more DHL business units in area of responsibility.
• Ensures all business units of DHL under remit comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Implements global and regional legal strategies in area of responsibility in alignment with business objectives.
• Responsible for providing training and knowledge tools to educate legal team and members of the business on key legal issues, trends and developments in the law.
• Responsible for assuring commercial contracts incorporate and reflect business objectives and terms designed to minimize risk and maximize opportunities for commercial gain and customer service opportunities .
• Responsible for defending the organization's legal interests in litigation and claims in area of responsibility which may include external legal spend in sub-region with highest level responsibility for same.
• Works closely with internal and external auditors and regulatory authorities on legal issues involving area of responsibility.

Customers & Stakeholders.

• Responsible for assuring organization's legal interests are best represented and protected in customer, vendor and third party contracts; active participant in negotiating such contracts.
• Represents and defends the organization's interests in litigation and other adversarial legal proceedings.

Your profile.

Education and

• University law degree
• Professional law qualifications

Experience Level.

• 4 years of legal practice either within commercial law firm or in house legal department, excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong manager with ability to apply legal knowledge and expertise into business environment
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong budgeting and cost control skills
