As a Legal Assistant / Associate at Sun Savings Bank, you will play a vital role in supporting our Legal Department in contract drafting, legal research, loan documentation review, and corporate compliance. You will work closely with legal counsel and internal operational units to ensure the bank's transactions and legal proceedings are executed efficiently and in full compliance with applicable laws and banking regulations.
Contract & Document Drafting: Draft, review, and organize basic legal documents, contracts, affidavits, power of attorney, and bank security instruments.
Loan & Collateral Documentation: Assist in reviewing loan agreements, mortgage documents, title verification, and securing registry filings to safeguard bank transactions.
Litigation & Hearing Support: Coordinate with external legal counsels, prepare case folders, track hearing schedules, and assist in compiling evidence and pleadings for collection or legal cases.
Corporate & Board Support: Assist in preparing corporate secretarial documents, board resolutions, secretary certificates, and regulatory filings.
Legal Research & Records Management: Conduct preliminary legal research on banking laws, BSP regulations, and jurisprudence; maintain an organized database of legal opinions, contracts, and case files.
Cross-Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with credit, loans, operations, and compliance units to ensure legal risk mitigation across bank operations.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Legal Management, Business Administration, Finance, or any banking-related field.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Paralegal, or Document Specialist (experience in a bank, financial institution, or law firm is a strong plus).
