Microchip Technology Inc. in the Philippines is seeking a Principal Test Engineering Lead to guide Sustaining and Enhancement Test Engineering.

This hands-on leadership role requires managing a team of Test Engineers while remaining active in day-to-day test work across analog, power, and mixed-signal semiconductor products. The ideal candidate brings deep ATE experience, strong leadership, and a track record of improving yield and test efficiency while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of semiconductor test engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of people management or team leadership experience within TE or PE.
• Strong platform-agnostic expertise in Automated Test Equipment (ATE) engineering; ability to learn new tester platforms quickly; J750/SPEA/Eagle preferred.
• Experience in production sustaining, yield improvement, failure analysis, ECO management.
• Advanced statistical and data analysis skills: MSA, GRR, ANOVA; apply stats for yield/quality improvement.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering workflows and automation-driven practices; scripting or data tools are a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; experience with distributed teams is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Test Engineers at PTC Philippines; set objectives aligned with BU goals and KPIs.
• Coordinate workload, resource planning, and training across sustaining projects.
• Stay engaged in technical work to maintain credibility and delivery.
• Perform sustaining activities: test program maintenance, debug, and optimization across multiple ATE platforms.
• Drive test program enhancements to improve yield, throughput, test coverage, and test time.
• Review and approve engineering changes impacting test flows and programs.
• Resolve test escapes, production failures, and quality issues; contribute to floor-level debug as needed.
• Support root cause analysis with Product Engineering and Quality teams; lead enhancement projects.
• Serve as primary test engineering liaison with Test Operations, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing.
• Champion best practices, standardized workflows, and automation initiatives; track metrics (yield, escapes, cycle time).
• Apply statistical methods (MSA, GRR, ANOVA) to drive yield and quality improvements.
