Job summary

Camascope India, part of Person Centred Software (PCS) Group, is hiring a founding engineer to shape a new India-based team working with UK Product Engineering to design, build and operate a core PCS product.

You will be the senior-most individual contributor, setting standards, mentoring engineers, and taking ownership from concept to production—driving architecture decisions and best practices across the team.

About us

Camascope India is part of Person Centred Software (PCS) Group, whose software is used by thousands of care professionals every day to help care teams improve outcomes, stay compliant, and spend more time focusing on people. This new India-based team will work closely with our UK Product Engineering teams to design, build and operate a core PCS product.

The opportunity

This is a founding role for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building high-quality software, and taking ownership from concept through to production — and who wants to help shape a brand-new team from day one. You'll be the senior-most individual contributor on the team, working closely with the Engineering Manager to set technical direction, establish engineering standards, and mentor engineers as the team grows.

What you'll be doing

• Designing, building and maintaining applications using C# and .NET, across backend and frontend technologies
• Leading delivery of complex features and technical projects
• Setting a strong technical example as a founding engineer — establishing coding standards, review practices and testing culture for the new team
• Collaborating with Product and QA teams to deliver high-quality, well-tested solutions
• Writing robust automated tests and promoting engineering best practice across the team
• Reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and helping raise the technical bar as the team scales from 6 upward
• Contributing to architecture and technical design decisions, in partnership with the Engineering Manager
• Driving improvements in scalability, performance, security and maintainability
• Using modern development tooling and AI-assisted technologies (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity
• Taking ownership of solutions throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design to production support

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET
• Experience building modern web applications across backend and frontend technologies
• A passion for clean, maintainable and well-tested code
• Experience working in Agile product development environments
• Strong understanding of software architecture and scalable system design
• Experience with CI/CD, source control and modern development practices
• Confidence leading technical discussions and mentoring others — you'll help set the tone for a brand-new team
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot

• Blazor or modern frontend framework experience
• SQL database design and optimisation
• Azure and AWS/cloud-native development (this product is migrating core services from Azure to AWS)
