Job summary

Simply Source Outsourcing seeks a Senior-level backend/integration engineer to own the technical integration between an external exposure scanner and a client platform. You will ensure reliable API communication, secure job processing, data delivery, testing, and end-to-end integration.

You will design and maintain API contracts, build integrations for scan jobs, implement idempotency, retries, and versioning, and develop contract tests.

Qualifications

• Senior-level backend/integration engineering experience required.
• Strong experience with REST APIs, JSON, schemas, webhooks/messaging, and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of API versioning, authentication, idempotency, retries, and error handling.
• Experience with Azure Service Bus or similar asynchronous messaging platforms.
• Experience integrating independently deployed systems.
• Strong testing and documentation practices.
• Security awareness around authorization and handling of sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain API/data contracts between independently deployed systems.
• Build integrations for scan jobs, status updates, findings, context, and evidence.
• Implement idempotency, retries, error handling, and versioning.
• Develop integration test fixtures, payloads, and contract tests.
• Work with external engineering teams on data mapping and integration requirements.
• Support staging, end-to-end testing, pilot troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
• Ensure integration failures are observable and recoverable.
