Job summary

Veolia Water Technologies (SEA) Pte Ltd is recruiting a Senior Design Engineer for water and wastewater plants. You will perform detailed engineering, prepare P&IDs, equipment layouts, and routing sketches, and size calculations to ensure on-time delivery and contract compliance.

You will liaise with the in-house design team, drive cost-down through value engineering, evaluate vendor quotes, and support bid-winning projects as well as construction and commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of design experience for water and wastewater plants.
• Strong MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint skills and familiarity with SharePoint and Teams.
• Experience with AutoCAD and SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead detail engineering tasks for water and wastewater plants to meet on-time delivery and specifications.
• Prepare sketches for P&IDs, Fabrication, Equipment Layout and Pipe Routing drawings.
• Create equipment datasheets and perform sizing/calculations (equipment, pipe, hydraulics).
• Raise purchase requisitions and sign off engineering designs.
• Coordinate with in-house design team and provide value engineering to reduce costs.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and assist in vendor selection.
• Support bidding, project management, construction and commissioning teams as required.

Job description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Take on detail engineering task for water and wastewater treatment plant to full fill business obligation e.g. On-time delivery, Satisfy contract specification or industrial standard and bring value to customer. Work shall include but not limited to the following:
• Prepare sketches on P&IDs Drawing
• Prepare sketches on Fabrication Drawing
• Prepare sketches on Equipment Layout Drawing
• Prepare sketches on Pipe Routing Drawing
• Prepare equipment and material datasheet
• Perform equipment sizing calculation
• Perform pipe sizing calculation
• Perform hydraulic calculation
• Perform pipe stress analysis
• Perform material take off
• Raise purchase requisition
• Check and sign off engineering design
• Liaison with in-house design team aboard to meet engineering deliverables.
• Perform value engineering to drive cost down.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and provide input on vendor selection.
• Support business initiatives to bid and win jobs as required.
• Support Project Management/ Construction Team on construction activities as required.
• Support Commissioning Team on commissioning activities as required.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor/Masters’ Degree in Engineering
• Minimum 5 years working experiences in design of water and wastewater
• Highly motivated and able to work under pressure
• Experience in construction, test and commission, and operation of water and wastewater plant is a plus point
• Well versed in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
• Familiar in MS SharePoint, MS Team, and Naviswork
• Ability to operate AutoCAD and SAP is a plus point
