Job summary

EviSmart is seeking a Data Architect to own and scale the company’s data warehouse and pipelines. You will ensure reliable data integration from in-house systems and third-party platforms into a single source of truth, enabling near real-time, self-serve analytics across teams.

Lead a small data team, maintain data quality and governance, and collaborate with product, sales, and finance to meet reporting needs with APIs and structured datasets.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering with ownership of a production data warehouse or platform end to end.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with modern data pipeline/ETL tools (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran).
• Experience with layered warehouse architecture (bronze/silver/gold).
• Hands-on with Databricks and Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory/Data Lake/SQL).
• Experience exposing data via APIs or serving teams via APIs.
• Interest in ML/AI data needs; understand data quality for models.
• People management or readiness to grow a small team.
• Clear communicator with non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and run reliable, automated data pipelines from multiple systems into a central warehouse.
• Maintain a single trusted customer/business record across teams and systems.
• Own data quality by monitoring and fixing issues before downstream use.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver clean, structured data in near real-time.
• Review changes to data structures to prevent breaks in warehouse or reports.
• Structure and document data for self-serve access by teams and AI tools.
• Lead and grow a small data engineering team.
