Job summary

SGS & Co in Cebu City, Philippines is seeking a Junior Operations Executive - Laboratory to support the National Laboratory Manager in overseeing daily laboratory operations and coordinating testing activities, samples and administrative tasks.

The role emphasizes supervising analysts, ensuring adherence to standard test methods and quality objectives, and maintaining calibration of equipment in a fast-paced petroleum testing environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with professional license.
• Minimum of five (5) years technical laboratory working experience in petroleum industry and/or three (3) years supervisory experience in petroleum industry.

Responsibilities

• Aid the National Laboratory Manager in overseeing daily technical laboratory operations and resources to ensure accurate and timely test results.
• Supervise staff to ensure workflow efficiency, compliance with customer requirements, and adherence to standard procedures and quality objectives.
• Authorize testing, data interpretation, and reporting in the Laboratory Manager's absence; review results and issue certificates of analysis as needed.
• Sign service proposals, test reports and costs in the Laboratory Manager's absence; manage laboratory supplies and leave approvals.
• Directly supervise analysts, information processor and laboratory aides; coordinate with subordinates and ensure calibration/verification of equipment.
