Job summary

A leading mining company in the Philippines is looking for a qualified individual to manage chemical analyses of nickel ores. The role involves performing quality control, organizing work for subordinates, and ensuring compliance with testing methodologies. Candidates should have a degree in chemical engineering, experience in nickel mining is preferred, and must be a licensed chemist or technician. Willingness to stay on site in Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte is a must.

Qualifications

• Graduate of BS in Chemical Engineering; Chemistry or any related courses.
• Experience in nickel laterite mining is an advantage.
• Willing to work in Gutalac, Zamboanga Del Norte and stay-in set-up.

Responsibilities

• Analyze all nickel ore samples including shipment using XRF daily.
• Perform daily quality control using CRM’s and In-House standards.
• Organize and delegate work to direct subordinates.
• Examine and record inbound items for testing.
• Perform testing of samples using specified methodology.
• Maintain documentation and equipment in an orderly condition.
• Coordinate with the On-Duty Chemist if discrepancies are found.

Job description

Job Responsibilities:

1. Analyze all nickel ore samples including shipment using XRF daily.
2. Perform daily quality control using CRM’s and In-House standards to check XRF’s credibility.
3. Organize and delegates work to direct subordinates.
4. Receives, examines and records through log-in process inbound items for testing.
5. Performs testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology.
6. Maintains documentation, equipment and work areas in a neat and orderly condition.
7. Coordinate with the On-Duty Chemist if discrepancies are found on samples, procedures and methods upon examination.
8. Performs other related functions as necessary.
