Job summary

Ostrea Mineral Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a qualified chemist to perform trace metal analyses in water, mineral, and air samples. You will operate AAS instrumentation (flame and graphite furnace) and carry out MIBK extractions for Cd, Pb, Ni, and Au, while ensuring sample integrity and SOP adherence.

Applicants should hold a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and be licensed or PRC-registered. Experience in environmental testing is a plus, with strong attention to detail and strict

Qualifications

• Graduate in BS Chemistry or BS Chemical Engineering or related science.
• Must be Licensed Chemist or Registered Chemical Technician (PRC licensed).
• Experience in an environmental testing lab is an advantage.
• Familiarity with AAS instrumentation and wet chemistry preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a structured laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trace metal analyses for Cd, Ni, Zn, Mo, Sn, Bi, Pt, and Au in water, mineral, and air matrices.
• Operate Flame/Graphite Furnace AAS and perform MIBK extractions for Cd, Pb, Ni, and Au.
• Oversee receipt, logging, and monitoring of incoming air samples.
• Perform quarterly Laboratory Fortified Blank (LFB) digestions for Ag, Pb, As, Se.
• Validate expired stock standards and reference solutions to maintain test accuracy.
• Prepare reagents, calibration standards, and samples per SOPs.
• Maintain up-to-date inventory of stock solutions and reagents.

Job description

• Conduct trace metal analysis for Cadmium (Cd), Nickel (Ni), Zinc (Zn), Molybdenum (Mo), Tin (Sn), Bismuth (Bi), Platinum (Pt), and Gold (Au) in water, mineral, and air matrices
• Utilize Flame/Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and perform MIBK (Methyl Isobutyl Ketone) liquid‑liquid extractions for Cd, Pb, Ni, and Au determination
• Oversee the receipt, logging, and monitoring of incoming air samples to ensure sample integrity
• Perform quarterly Laboratory Fortified Blank (LFB) digestions for critical water analysis parameters (Ag, Pb, As, Se)
• Validate expired stock standards and reference solutions to maintain test accuracy
• Prepare accurate chemical reagents, calibration standards, and samples strictly adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Maintain a meticulous and up‑to‑date inventory of stock solutions and reagents for assigned analytical parameters

About you
