Job description

As the Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and growing strategic customer partnerships across Mexico while driving sustainable and profitable revenue growth across key retail channels. This role manages assigned key accounts, develops and executes commercial strategies, and builds strong customer relationships to achieve sales, profitability, and business objectives. The Key Account Manager serves as a primary commercial point of contact for assigned customers and works closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Demand Planning, and international teams to ensure strong execution and maximize business performance.

The successful candidate will combine strong commercial and analytical skills with a customer-focused, proactive approach. This role requires the ability to identify business opportunities, develop actionable account plans, negotiate effectively, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver results.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage and grow assigned strategic retail accounts, serving as the primary commercial point of contact for key customers
  • Develop and execute annual account plans aligned with company objectives, including revenue, profitability, distribution, and market share goals
  • Establish strong, long-term customer relationships and develop a deep understanding of customer strategies, priorities, and business needs
  • Develop and execute sell-in and sell-through strategies to maximize product performance, retail execution, and account growth
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, including category expansion, new product opportunities, increased distribution, and new customer acquisition
  • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations related to pricing, promotions, terms, product assortment, and joint business planning initiatives
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to support accurate forecasting, appropriate inventory levels, and effective product availability
  • Present new product launches, category insights, sales performance, and strategic business initiatives to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor account performance, analyze sales results and market trends, and translate data into actionable recommendations and business plans
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for growth
  • Partner with LATAM and global cross-functional teams to align on regional priorities, product strategies, and execution plans
  • Proactively identify and resolve customer issues, coordinating with internal teams to implement effective solutions and maintain strong customer partnerships
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of customer deliverables, promotional calendars, product launches, and agreed-upon business initiatives
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account plans, reporting, and customer documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Regularly communicate account performance, opportunities, risks, and priorities to Sales leadership and relevant internal stakeholders
  • Attend customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and other business activities as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, ways of working, and customer engagement to drive greater efficiency and business results
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
  • 3+ years of experience in Key Account Management, Sales, Account Management, or a related commercial role
  • Proven experience managing and developing retail, consumer goods, or strategic customer accounts
  • Demonstrated success achieving sales growth and developing customer relationships
  • Experience with commercial negotiations, account planning, forecasting, and promotional planning
  • Experience developing and executing sales and account growth strategies using data and business insights
  • Strong commercial acumen with a clear understanding of sales performance, profitability, pricing, and business drivers
  • Strong customer relationship management skills with the ability to establish credibility and influence customer decisions
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales performance, customer data, market trends, and financial metrics
  • Ability to translate data and insights into clear recommendations and actionable business plans
  • Strong business planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, projects, and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and make sound business decisions
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at different levels within the organization and customer organizations
  • Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and sales reporting/CRM tools
  • Willingness to travel as required for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events
Nice To Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field is a plus
  • Experience within consumer goods industries such as toys, baby products, pet products, costumes, or related categories
  • Experience working with major retailers, department stores, specialty retailers, e-commerce customers, or national accounts
  • Experience working within a regional or international business environment, preferably within LATAM markets
  • Bilingual English/Spanish capabilities are strongly preferred
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional and international teams across multiple markets
  • Experience working with sales agents, distributors, or external commercial partners

The base salary may vary based on experience, role tenure, performance, industry, and location. Eligibility for the annual performance incentive may apply. Jazwares is a multi-state employer, so the salary range may not apply to other states.

Our benefits package includes basic medical insurance that is 100% company-paid for employees and their children, employee basic life and AD&D insurance, a 401(K) retirement program with Jazwares matching up to 4% of pretax or post-tax deferrals, short and long-term disability, and tuition reimbursement.

Our work environment provides a flexible work schedule that includes Monday through Thursday on-site, with an optional WFH on Fridays, up to 20 workdays fully remote each year, and Time Off for vacation and sick leave. Through Jazwares Cares, you will have the opportunity to volunteer for up to 16 hours a year on community service projects.
