Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong foundational knowledge of RPG programming language and syntax.
Understanding of database concepts and experience with relational databases.
Familiarity with IBM System i (iSeries) environment or similar legacy systems.
Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Preferred experience with IBM tools such as SEU, RDi, or Code for i.
Preferred exposure to application integration and API development.
Preferred familiarity with version control systems and agile development practices.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain RPG applications and programs according to specifications and coding standards.
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and company guidelines.
Perform unit testing and debugging of RPG programs to ensure functionality and reliability.
Collaborate with senior developers and business analysts to understand requirements and implement solutions.
Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
Support the modification and enhancement of existing RPG applications.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues and software defects.
Contribute to technical documentation and maintain system records.
Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and continuous learning opportunities.
