Job summary

RippedBoxStation in Manila is seeking a Junior Manual/Functional Tester to develop and execute manual test cases across web, mobile, and enterprise apps. You will participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality from planning through delivery.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in a related field, has up to 2 years of QA experience, and is familiar with SDLC/STLC, defect tracking, and test management tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in software testing or QA.
• Basic understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Familiarity with manual testing methodologies and defect lifecycle.
• Knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, HP ALM).
• Understanding of functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work under close guidance and daily supervision.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute manual test cases based on functional and business requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing for web, mobile, and enterprise apps.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
• Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing.
• Assist in preparing test plans, test scenarios, data, and execution reports.
• Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product owners to clarify requirements and resolve defects.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning and reviews.
• Maintain test documentation, evidence, and quality metrics.
• Follow QA processes and testing standards.
• Support domain-specific testing activities (insurance, financial, healthcare) where applicable.
• Escalate testing issues, risks, and blockers to senior QA.
