Job summary

Novatek Gas and Power Asia Pte Ltd is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to support the LNG business's commercial functions. You will help draft, review, and administer long- and short-term SPAs and related transactional documents.

The role offers exposure to energy trading, risk assessment, and compliance, working with senior counsel. You will collaborate with commercial teams, participate in negotiations, and monitor LNG regulatory developments, with strong English and LL.B. credentials required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
• Strong drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to learn and grow in LNG/energy sector.
• Experience drafting commercial contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing LNG SPAs (long-term & short-term).
• Support preparation and review of transactional documents for LNG sales/trading.
• Identify legal/commercial risks and suggest practical solutions under supervision of senior counsel.
• Provide legal support to commercial teams during negotiations and execution of contracts.
• Conduct legal research as requested by senior team members.
• Review executed agreements and monitor legal risks and compliance obligations.
• Monitor regulatory developments relevant to LNG and corporate activities.
