Dempo is hiring a Junior Cloud Engineer to join our infrastructure team and gain hands-on experience in cloud-native environments. You will work under supervision on well-scoped tasks, building a strong foundation for a Platform or SRE career path.

You’ll receive close guidance from senior engineers as you learn Linux basics, cloud concepts, containers, and CI/CD, with room to grow at your own pace within a supportive mentorship program.

Qualifications

• Less than 2 years of experience in this role.
• Basic Linux command-line usage.
• Familiarity with core cloud concepts.
• Basic understanding of containers (Docker).
• Familiarity with Git workflows.
• Willingness to learn under mentorship.

We are looking for a Junior Cloud Engineer to join our infrastructure team and begin building hands‑on experience in cloud-native environments. This role is about skill acquisition and reliability — you'll work under supervision on well-scoped infrastructure tasks, building the foundations you'll need to grow into a Standard Cloud Engineer and beyond on our Platform or SRE career paths.

You'll get close guidance from senior engineers as you learn Linux fundamentals, cloud basics, containers, and CI/CD — with room to grow at your own pace.

Responsibilities

• Write basic Infrastructure as Code (IaC) components
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines with supervision
• Handle low-risk operational issues
• Search logs and read dashboards to help investigate known issues
• Learn how incidents are declared and your role in escalating them
• Build foundational knowledge of Linux, cloud, and containers
• Receive close guidance and mentorship from senior cloud/platform engineers

Requirements

• Less than 2 years of experience in this role
• Basic understanding of Linux command‑line usage (navigation, file operations, permissions)
• Familiarity with core cloud concepts (compute, storage, networking) — hands‑on portal experience is a plus
• Basic understanding of containers (Docker) — can read a Dockerfile and run a local stack via Compose
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows (branches, merge requests)
• Basic understanding of security fundamentals (least privilege, not storing credentials in files)
• Eagerness to learn, ask for help when stuck, and grow within a structured mentorship path

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g. reading/modifying a Terraform configuration)
• Basic scripting experience (Bash or Python)
• Coursework or personal projects involving cloud platforms
• Familiarity with reading logs/dashboards to investigate an issue
