Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
• Strong foundational knowledge of RPG and its syntax.
• Basic understanding of IBM AS/400 (iSeries) systems.
• Familiarity with DB2 and SQL.
• Knowledge of SDLC principles and methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Attention to detail and commitment to code quality.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Experience with version control is a plus.
• Exposure to COBOL or other legacy languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications using RPG on the IBM AS/400 (iSeries) platform.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to standards.
• Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop and test features and enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews and implement feedback to improve code quality.
• Debug and troubleshoot existing applications and resolve issues promptly.
• Support maintenance and optimisation of legacy systems and databases.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Assist in documenting technical specifications and system designs.
• Participate in unit and integration testing.
