Job summary

UNA Tax & Accounting Services is seeking a Junior Associate 2 in the Philippines to advance accounting skills, perform reconciliations, and prepare management reports. You will review work by JA 1s and contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling under supervision, with the potential to progress to Senior Associate 1.

The role requires a CPA candidate or willingness to pursue certification, a 2–3 year background in accounting or related consulting, and strong attention to detail

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Management Accounting is required.
• CPA candidate preferred with willingness to pursue certification.
• 2–3 years of accounting, financial reporting, or management consulting experience.

Responsibilities

• Record transactions, maintain general ledgers, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (IFRS/PFRS)
• Handle account reconciliations, variance analysis, payroll, AP/AR, and BIR tax compliance
• Perform initial reviews of simple financial reports, reconciliations, and bookkeeping tasks completed by JA 1s
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, financial modeling, and management reports
• Strengthen technical competencies, apply financial ratios/KPIs, and stay updated on IFRS/PFRS/tax regulations
• Utilize ERP, analytics, and cloud accounting tools
• Collaborate with Senior Associates and Managers on client engagements, data gathering, and presentations
• Guide JA 1s on basic bookkeeping, reconciliations, and compliance tasks
• Follow structured workflows and maintain audit-ready documentation
• Assist in developing checklists, templates, and automation/process improvements

About the role

The Junior Associate 2 (2–3 years) builds on foundational accounting skills by handling complex tasks, independently conducting reconciliations, preparing management reports, and performing initial reviews of work completed by Junior Associate 1s. The role requires growing independence and problem-solving skills to prepare for promotion to Senior Associate 1.

Key responsibilities

• Record transactions, maintain general ledgers, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (IFRS/PFRS)
• Handle account reconciliations, variance analysis, payroll, AP/AR, and BIR tax compliance
• Perform initial reviews of simple financial reports, reconciliations, and bookkeeping tasks completed by JA 1s

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or Management Accounting
• CPA candidate preferred (with willingness to pursue certification)
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or management consulting
• Ability to independently review simple financial reports and reconciliations
• Sound understanding of financial reporting (IFRS/PFRS), bookkeeping, tax compliance, financial analysis, cost analysis, and financial projections
• Ability to perform initial reviews of JA 1 deliverables
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Problem-solving skills with ability to identify record inconsistencies
• Adaptability and effective collaboration and communication skills
