Job summary

Philippine Airlines, Inc. is seeking a Jr. Specialist to support the Safety Management System (SMS) implementation and continuous improvement in Pasay City, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective safety performance.

The role focuses on administering SMS processes, maintaining safety documentation, and delivering training across the organization. You will work with cross-functional teams to review reports, manage safety data, and promote safety improvements aligned with PAL's objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Aviation, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in aviation operations, SMS administration, or safety reporting is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and technical writing skills.
• Experience with safety data tools and aviation safety practices is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist the MGR - SMS Administration in planning and implementing PAL SMS and measuring SMS performance for regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
• Maintain the Safety Management Manual (SMM) and related safety documents.
• Oversee the Safety Library (AQD), safety reports, hazard and risk data, and safety modules.
• Review daily safety reports and conduct risk assessments with relevant departments.
• Deliver SMS training programs (online and in-person) and provide guidance across all levels.
• Lead safety promotion initiatives and develop memos, bulletins, and campaign materials.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities (e.g., CAAP) to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Support risk management activities including hazard identification and mitigation planning.
• Provide SMS oversight for PAL Express operations and participate in safety projects.
• Contribute to accident/incident investigations and safety committee documentation.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Aviation, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years in aviation operations, maintenance, or airline Safety Management System (SMS) administration, with hands‑on SMS implementation and familiarity with safety reporting tools like AQD.
