Job summary

ING Hubs Philippines is seeking a Java Engineer to join the Wholesale Banking Technology Lending COI 2 team. You will design, build, and support business-critical applications that enable the Wholesale Lending business across Manila, collaborating with colleagues in the Netherlands to deliver innovative solutions.

You'll develop RESTful microservices using Java 8 and Java 11+, work with Spring Boot/ MVC/ Batch, and participate in Agile and DevOps practices to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing and delivering Java-based applications for scalable systems.
• Hands-on development with Spring ecosystem and RESTful services.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps environments.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Java Engineer to join our Wholesale Banking Technology Lending COI 2 team.

In this role, you'll design, build, and support business‑critical applications that enable the Wholesale Lending business. You'll collaborate closely with engineers in Manila, stakeholders across the business, and colleagues in the Netherlands to deliver innovative solutions that create real business value.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and enhance applications supporting the Wholesale Lending business.
• Build scalable, secure, and resilient Java‑based solutions.
• Develop and maintain RESTful microservices using modern engineering practices.
• Support the delivery and deployment of applications across their lifecycle.
• Research and propose innovative technologies and solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product stakeholders, and international teams to deliver high‑quality software.
• Contribute to Agile and DevOps ways of working to drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience in Java 8, with knowledge of Java 11+ considered an advantage.
• Hands‑on experience with:

• Solid understanding of:
