Job summary

ERNI Philippines in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, seeks a Java Backend Developer to join our growing software team. Design, develop, and maintain back-end services with Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and REST APIs, and build robust microservices with a focus on quality and maintainability.

Collaborate with IT, QA, DevOps, and business analysts across the lifecycle, contribute to deployment activities, and help drive continuous improvement in our projects.

Qualifications

• Working proficiency in Java programming.
• Knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven, REST APIs, JMS, and WebLogic.
• Experience with microservices architecture and Java generics.
• Strong understanding of OO design and design patterns.
• Experience with TDD and software testing practices.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Understanding of application development, deployment, and support processes.
• Experience collaborating with IT teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and services.
• Build and enhance applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain microservices and system integrations based on defined business and technical requirements.
• Apply OO design principles and software design patterns when implementing solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with unit and automated tests.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.
• Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance deployed applications.
• Support deployments and coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams.
• Analyze technical issues and provide fixes or recommendations.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA, Data Engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain technical and operational documentation.
