Job summary

ERNI in Manila is seeking a skilled Java backend developer to design, build, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and microservices. You will work with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, JMS, and WebLogic to deliver robust software solutions.

You will join a hybrid team environment with opportunities for continuous learning, hands-on training, and career growth as ERNI expands its Asia Pacific services.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java programming and software development.
• Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Experience with REST APIs, JMS, and WebLogic.
• Hands-on with microservices architecture and Java generics.
• Good understanding of object-oriented design and patterns.
• Experience with tests and Git source control is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and services.
• Build and enhance apps using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain microservices and system integrations.
• Apply OO design principles and design patterns in code.
• Write clean, testable code with unit and automated tests.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance improvements.
• Coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure for deployments and monitoring.

What are our wishes?

Working proficiency in Java programming and software development

Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven, REST APIs, JMS, and WebLogic

Experience working with microservices architecture and Java generics

Good understanding of object-oriented programming, object-oriented design, and software design patterns

Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and software testing practices

Familiarity with Git, version control, and source code repositories

Understanding of application development, integration, deployment, and support processes

Experience collaborating with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, QA/Application Specialists, DevOps Engineers, and other IT teams

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and services

Build and enhance applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and related technologies

Develop and maintain microservices and system integrations based on defined business and technical requirements

Apply object-oriented design principles, software design patterns, and Java best practices when implementing solutions

Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, including appropriate unit and automated tests

Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and application performance improvements

Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance deployed applications

Support application deployments and coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams when required

Analyze technical issues and provide appropriate fixes or recommendations

Work closely with Business Analysts, QA, Data Engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, development documentation, operational manuals, and training materials as needed

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to code quality, maintainability, reliability, and development practices
