Job summary

ERNI, a Swiss-headquartered software development company with a service center in Mandaluyong, Philippines, invites a skilled Java back-end developer to join our growing team. You will design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and microservices, leveraging Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• Working proficiency in Java programming and software development.
• Knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven, REST APIs, JMS, and WebLogic.
• Experience with microservices architecture and Java generics.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, object-oriented design, and software design patterns.
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and software testing practices.
• Familiarity with Git, version control, and source code repositories.
• Understanding of application development, integration, deployment, and support processes.
• Experience collaborating with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, QA/Application Specialists, DevOps Engineers, and other IT teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based back-end applications and services.
• Build and enhance applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and related technologies.
• Develop and maintain microservices and system integrations based on defined business and technical requirements.
• Apply object-oriented design principles, software design patterns, and Java best practices when implementing solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, including appropriate unit and automated tests.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, defect resolution, and application performance improvements.
• Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance deployed applications.
• Support application deployments and coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams when required.
• Analyze technical issues and provide appropriate fixes or recommendations.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, QA, Data Engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, development documentation, operational manuals, and training materials as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to code quality, maintainability, reliability, and development practices.
