Job summary

Unison Group in Manila, Philippines is seeking an experienced Java & Microservices Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications and RESTful APIs. You will work with Java 8/11/17+, Spring Boot, and a microservices architecture to deliver reliable services.

You will integrate with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs, implement automated tests, and participate in CI/CD and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Proven Java development experience with modern frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and implement microservices-based architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance applications.
• Integrate microservices with databases, messaging systems, and external APIs.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases for data storage and retrieval.
• Implement unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, architects, and QA engineers.
• Use CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools to support deployment and release processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

Requirements

• Strong programming experience in Java 8/11/17 or above.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data JPA.
• Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture and RESTful web services.
• Experience with API design, integration, and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Good knowledge of SQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
