About the role

We are looking for a Japanese Interpreter / IT Bridge Coordinator who can effectively facilitate communication between Japanese clients/management and our Filipino IT development and support teams. The successful candidate will serve as a bridge between Japanese and English-speaking stakeholders, ensuring that business requirements, technical discussions, instructions, issues, and project updates are clearly understood by both sides. The role requires strong Japanese communication skills and a working understanding of IT processes and terminology.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Japanese-English interpretation during meetings, discussions, interviews, and business/IT-related activities.
• Translate and explain business requirements, technical discussions, specifications, instructions, and project updates between Japanese and English-speaking teams.
• Act as a communication bridge between Japanese clients/management and Filipino IT teams.
• Clarify requirements and ensure that instructions from Japanese stakeholders are properly understood and communicated to the IT team.
• Assist IT teams in communicating technical concerns, questions, progress, and issues to Japanese stakeholders.
• Participate in project meetings and provide interpretation and communication support.
• Prepare and translate business and IT-related documents, emails, reports, meeting minutes, and other materials.
• Monitor and follow up on action items arising from meetings and discussions.
• Help identify and resolve communication gaps, misunderstandings, or differences in expectations between Japanese and Filipino teams.
• Coordinate with project managers, developers, IT support personnel, and Japanese stakeholders to ensure smooth project communication.

About you

• JLPT N2 or higher; N1 is an advantage.
• Proven experience as a Japanese Interpreter, Translator, Bridge SE, IT Coordinator, or similar role.
• Experience in the IT industry is required.
• Working knowledge of common IT terminology, software development, IT support, systems, or infrastructure.
• Experience working with Japanese clients, managers, or IT teams is highly preferred.
• Strong Japanese and English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical information clearly.
• Strong coordination, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both Japanese and Filipino teams.
• Detail-oriented and capable of following up on requirements and action items.
