Job summary

John Clements Consultants, Inc. seeks a Bridge Software Engineer to act as the main liaison between Japan Head Office and the Philippine development team. You will ensure accurate communication of requirements and project updates across teams, bridging language and technical gaps.

You will support project progress, coordinate between stakeholders, and maintain technical documentation in both Japanese and English, enabling smooth development and delivery for cross-border projects.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in software development or a related technical software role.
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience as a Bridge Software Engineer or similar role (Bridge SE, IT Communicator).
• Business-level Japanese and English communication skills.
• JLPT N2 or above, or equivalent Japanese proficiency.
• Experience in client-facing, project coordination, or stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate between PASCO's Japan Head Office and the Philippine development team.
• Translate and convey technical specifications, requirements, instructions, and feedback accurately between Japanese and English.
• Ensure instructions and requirements from the Japan team are correctly understood and implemented by the development team.
• Clarify technical questions and facilitate communication between Japanese stakeholders and Philippine engineers.
• Support project management and progress tracking.
• Monitor project updates and communicate development status, issues, and concerns to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist the development team with project-related coordination as needed.
• Help identify and resolve communication gaps between Japan and the Philippines.
• Prepare, translate, organize, and maintain technical documents and specifications in Japanese and English.

Job description

We are looking for a Bridge Software Engineer to serve as the key liaison between the Japan Head Office and the Philippine development team.

This role goes beyond simple translation or interpretation. The successful candidate must have a solid understanding of software development and the SDLC to accurately communicate technical requirements, specifications, feedback, and project updates between both teams.

You will help ensure that requirements from Japan are clearly understood by the Philippine development team and that project progress and technical concerns are effectively communicated back to Japan.

Bridge & Technical Communication

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years of experience in software development or a related technical software role.

• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Previous experience as a Bridge Software Engineer, Bridge SE, IT Communicator, or similar role.

• Business-level Japanese and English communication skills.

• JLPT N2 or above, or equivalent Japanese proficiency.

• Experience in client-facing, project coordination, or stakeholder management roles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge or experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) or mapping-related systems.

• Experience working in a Japanese-affiliated company.

• Basic programming knowledge.

• Experience coordinating software development projects between Japanese and overseas teams.
