Position: IT Infrastructure Specialist
Location: Onsite
Role Overview
We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Implementation Specialist to bridge the gap between enterprise infrastructure design and hands‑on operational deployment. In this role, you will work closely with system architects, project managers, and operations teams to deploy, configure, and validate complex IT infrastructure solutions—including server platforms, cloud environments, networking hardware, and storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Implementation & Deployment
- Execute the technical deployment of hardware, virtual systems, operating systems, networking devices, and storage infrastructure according to architectural designs and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Build, configure, and harden physical servers, hypervisors (VMware/Hyper‑V), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and Linux/Windows server operating systems.
- Assist in network implementations, including provisioning switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN connections under guidance from network architects.
2. Project Support & Cutover Execution
- Partner with IT Project Managers to develop technical execution plans, implementation checklists, and rollback strategies.
- Participate in scheduled after‑hours maintenance windows, infrastructure cutovers, and migration activities to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
- Conduct post‑implementation testing, system validation, and user‑acceptance verification before handoff to operational teams.
3. Operational Handover & Documentation
- Produce detailed technical documentation, network/system topology diagrams, and runbooks for all newly implemented systems.
- Train and transition new infrastructure solutions to the L1/L2 IT Support and Operations teams for ongoing maintenance.
4. Troubleshooting & Escalation
- Identify, triage, and resolve complex technical blockers and configuration errors during deployment cycles.
- Collaborate with third‑party vendors and external partners for hardware provisioning, licensing, and escalation support.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure support, systems administration, or technical deployment roles.
Technical Skills
- Systems Administration: Strong proficiency with Windows Server (2019/2022) and Enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky Linux).
- Virtualization & Cloud: Direct experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper‑V, alongside foundational knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Networking & Security: Understanding of core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Subnetting, VPNs) and basic firewall rules.
- Directory & Identity Services: Hands‑on experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), Azure AD/Entra ID, and LDAP.
- Storage & Backup: Experience configuring enterprise storage arrays (SAN/NAS) and automated backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or native cloud backup tools).
- Scripting (Plus): Basic scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate repetitive implementation tasks.
Soft Skills
- High attention to detail with an emphasis on systematic testing and documentation.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical details to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability to work in fast‑paced project environments and flexible hours during deployment windows.
Preferred Certifications (Any of the following is a plus)
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals / Administrator (AZ-900 / AZ-104)
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner / Solutions Architect Associate
