Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our support team in a hands‑on technical role focused on infrastructure operations, escalations, systems support, and network administration. This position is intended for a senior technical engineer with broad experience across systems, networking, security, and infrastructure deployment. The role requires active participation in daily support operations, including troubleshooting, incident response, hardware deployment, and maintenance of business‑critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will support both Unix/Linux and Windows environments while managing network connectivity, endpoint systems, remote infrastructure, and security controls across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Hardware Deployment
- Deploy, configure, and maintain infrastructure hardware including desktops, workstations, physical and virtual servers, network switches, and hubs.
- Manage desktop image deployment, updates, patching, and version control.
- Support endpoint configuration, connectivity, and hardware troubleshooting.
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure, hardware, and network configurations.
Network Management
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure including switching, VLANs, IP addressing, subnetting, and firewall configuration and access policies.
- Support remote and specialized connectivity technologies such as satellite connections, radio‑based networking, and legacy or backup dial‑up systems.
- Monitor and resolve network performance and connectivity issues.
- Support voice and data communication systems as required.
Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain Unix/Linux and Windows Server/desktop environments.
- Perform system patching, hardening, and security maintenance.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user permissions, and endpoint access.
- Write scripts and automate routine administrative tasks where applicable.
- Support backup, recovery, and infrastructure reliability processes.
Security & Access Management
- Implement and maintain network and endpoint security controls.
- Manage firewall rules, user access, and endpoint protection.
- Support monitoring and control of inbound and outbound business traffic.
- Assist with infrastructure security improvements and compliance requirements.
Support Team Responsibilities
- Handle escalated support tickets and technical incidents.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and after‑hours maintenance activities.
- Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure and network issues.
- Work closely with other engineers and support staff during incidents and deployments.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on infrastructure or systems engineering experience.
- Strong Windows Server administration experience, including endpoint and image management, switching, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, IP networking, subnetting, voice and data networks.
- Experience deploying and supporting infrastructure hardware.
- Experience with desktop imaging and endpoint management tools.
- Experience implementing and maintaining infrastructure security controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting satellite‑connected or remote environments.
- Experience with radio networking technologies.
- Experience supporting legacy backup connectivity systems.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
