Job summary

Umpisa Inc. in Makati is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to gather, analyze, and document requirements for IT systems, enhancements, and new features. You will lead requirements gathering with business users, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure clear scope and deliverables.

You will support project planning, monitor timelines, and prepare BRD/BPD and RTM artifacts. The role requires SDLC understanding, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis in software engineering, software testing, or IT projects.
• Experience in Project Management, Project Coordination, or supporting IT projects.
• Experience with Jira, Mantis, or Bugzilla.
• Understanding of SDLC, documentation standards, and methodologies.
• Experience creating BRD, BPD, and RTM.
• Experience defining business process workflows for system implementation.
• Experience writing test plans and test cases, executing tests, and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience in the logistics industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for IT systems, enhancements, and new features.
• Lead requirements gathering and project activities with users, development teams, and stakeholders.
• Support project planning, tracking, and monitoring of requirements, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies.
• Evaluate existing processes and systems, identify requirements, and recommend improvements.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings to elicit, clarify, and validate requirements.
• Review documents and inputs to support requirements gathering and project activities.
• Prepare and maintain BRD for use in development, testing, and implementation.
• Develop BPD to reference business users during and after implementation.
• Create and maintain RTM to track requirements and ensure delivery.
• Monitor requirements and deliverables to identify gaps, risks, and issues.
• Manage defects from reporting through closure.
• Translate requirements into functional test cases and support testing activities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper implementation.
• Provide project updates, documentation, and status reports as needed.
• Support the Project Manager in coordinating activities and timelines.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for the implementation of IT systems, enhancements, and new features
• Lead requirements gathering and project activities, working closely with business users, development teams, and other stakeholders to ensure business requirements, project scope, timelines, and deliverables are clearly defined and aligned
• Support project planning, tracking, and monitoring of requirements, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies
• Evaluate existing business processes and systems, identify business requirements, and recommend solutions to improve business processes and maximize business opportunities
• Facilitate and/or support stakeholder meetings, workshops, and discussions to elicit, clarify, and validate business requirements
• Review business documents and stakeholder inputs to support requirements gathering and project activities
• Prepare and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRD) for use throughout project development, testing, and implementation
• Develop Business Process Documents (BPD) to serve as references for business users and stakeholders during and after process implementation
• Create and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to track requirements and ensure proper delivery and validation of project features
• Monitor requirements and project deliverables to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and potential issues that may impact project timelines or scope
• Manage defects by ensuring timely tracking, verification, and resolution from reporting through closure
• Translate business requirements into functional test cases and support testing activities
• Assist users in clarifying requirements and defining acceptance criteria for system testing
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are properly communicated and implemented
• Provide project updates, documentation, and status reports as needed
• Support the Project Manager in coordinating project activities and ensuring deliverables are completed within agreed timelines

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in Business Analysis, preferably within Software Engineering, Software Testing, or IT implementation projects
• Previous experience or background in Project Management, Project Coordination, or supporting IT projects
• Experience working with project teams and coordinating with business, technical, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Mantis, or Bugzilla
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), project documentation, standards, and methodologies
• Experience creating BRD, BPD, and RTM
• Experience defining and documenting business process workflows for system implementation
• Experience writing test plans and test cases, executing tests, and preparing test reports
• Experience tracking project requirements, deliverables, issues, risks, and dependencies is an advantage
• Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
