The Managed Cloud & Endpoint Operations Engineer is responsible for delivering proactive and reactive managed services across cloud, on-premise, and endpoint environments. The role ensures the availability, security, performance, and cost efficiency of infrastructure and end-user computing platforms, with primary ownership of endpoint management, compliance, and patch deployment using Microsoft Intune Unified Endpoint Management (UEM).
This position operates within a managed services model and works closely with cloud, security, network, and DevOps teams to maintain operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive Managed Services
- Provide 8x5 cloud and endpoint infrastructure monitoring and alerting, covering:
- Compute resources (vCPU, memory, disk, network)
- Operating systems (Windows and Linux)
- Databases (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and similar platforms)
- Endpoint security events, antivirus, and device compliance
- Resource utilization and performance metrics
- Own endpoint patch management lifecycle using Microsoft Intune UEM, including:
- Planning, scheduling, testing, deployment, and validation of OS and application patches
- Enforcement of update rings, compliance policies, and remediation actions
- Reporting on patch compliance, failures, and risk exposure
- (Non-negotiable responsibility)
- Perform critical infrastructure patch management across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly backup status reports.
- Conduct monthly cost optimization and usage reviews, including right-sizing, capacity planning, and consumption trend analysis.
- Implement cloud and endpoint security monitoring and alerting aligned with security best practices.
Reactive Support Services
- Deliver operational support for:
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Managed database services (SQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Managed network services (Firewall, WAF, IDS/IPS)
- CI/CD pipeline and DevOps toolchains
- Manage backup and business continuity / disaster recovery (BCDR) processes, including bi-annual DR drills.
- Administer antivirus and antimalware platforms, including incident response and remediation.
- Handle configuration change requests and infrastructure incidents (unlimited), ensuring adherence to SLA targets.
- Perform problem management and root cause analysis for all Priority 1 incidents.
- Provide technical solution design, consultation, and customer advisory services.
- Execute performance tuning and cost optimization initiatives.
- Support encryption, key management, and secure configuration standards.
- Provide operational support for on-premise Windows and Linux systems, including DHCP and DNS services.
Mandatory Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- Hands-on, production experience with Microsoft Intune Unified Endpoint Management (UEM).
- Proven experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting OS and application patches using Intune, including update rings, compliance policies, and reporting.
- Strong experience supporting Windows endpoints in an enterprise or managed services environment.

- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP exposure is an advantage)

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a managed services or MSP environment
- Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps tooling
- Security certifications or endpoint/cloud-related certifications
- Strong documentation, reporting, and customer-facing communication skills
