Job summary

Asian Terminals Incorporated is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to conduct diverse audits across ATI and its affiliates. The role focuses on planning, risk assessment, testing of controls, and reporting to management.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in financial, operational, and quality audits, with strong communication skills and knowledge of IT control environments. CIA certification is preferred, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3 years minimum in financial, operational, and quality audits.
• Proficient in risk assessment and internal controls.
• Knowledge in IT general and application controls, fraud investigations, and project management is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preferably CIA certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits (financial, operational, and quality) for ATI and affiliates.
• Plan audits, perform risk assessment, and prepare engagement work programs.
• Evaluate internal controls and identify efficiency improvements.
• Prepare and present internal audit reports to line management.
• Follow up on outstanding audit issues and action plans.

About the role

Conducts different types of audits (compliance audits, operations/ quality audits) of ATI and other affiliates systems, processes, operations, functions and activities.

Key Accountabilities

Planning & Risk Assessment

• Budgeted time for each audit project.
• Conducts preliminary survey, process understanding, and walkthrough.
• Conducts risk assessment for business units under audit; identification of fraud risks.
• Prepares engagement work program.

Testing & Analysis

• Evaluates the extent of compliance of business units with the established policies, plans & procedures as well as government laws and regulations.
• Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the business units' internal controls and identifies operational opportunities for improved efficiency, cost savings, and revenue enhancements.
• Provides consulting services regarding operational and quality control matters.

Reporting

• Formulates practicable recommendations on issues identified and prepare draft internal audit reports.
• Discusses and presents results of assigned audit engagements to line management.

Follow-up

• Performs regular follow-up of outstanding audit issues and action plans.
• Prepares monthly progress report of all open audit issues.

Others

• Assist in fraud investigations, as necessary.
• Assist in preparation of annual audit plan.
• Attends to the department's administrative requirements such as requisitioning, inventory, and cost monitoring.

Qualities, Skills and Experience

• Graduate of Accountancy or Industrial Engineer
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial, operational, and quality audits
• Proficient in risk assessment and internal controls
• Knowledge in IT general and application controls, fraud investigations, and project management is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Preferably Certified Internal Auditor
