The Cadet Railway Engineer Intern assists the engineering team in the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of railway systems and infrastructure. This role provides hands-on training and practical exposure to railway engineering projects while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills within a railway environment.
Assist engineers in the inspection, maintenance, and monitoring of railway infrastructure, including tracks, stations, signaling systems, and other rail assets.
Support project teams in engineering studies, surveys, and technical assessments.
Participate in site visits and field inspections to observe railway operations and maintenance activities.
Assist in preparing technical reports, drawings, and project documentation.
Review engineering plans, specifications, and design documents under supervision.
Support data collection, analysis, and reporting related to railway performance and asset management.
Help ensure compliance with railway safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, mechanical, and signaling engineers.
Attend technical meetings, training sessions, and safety briefings.
Perform other engineering-related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Railway Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
Strong academic background in engineering principles.
Basic knowledge of railway systems, transportation infrastructure, or construction projects is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering software is a plus.
