Job summary

EROAD Philippines Inc is hiring an intermediate Software Engineer to join the platform team building EROAD's cloud-native, event-driven SaaS system spanning AWS and Azure. You will own delivery end-to-end within your squad, design and build microservices and RESTful APIs, review AI-generated code before it merges, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Hybrid work arrangement with 4 days onsite and 1 day remote, starting 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM PHT, and a strong emphasis on hands-on backend work

Qualifications

• Solid backend production experience with C# .NET.
• Hands-on experience building microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and containerisation.
• Hands-on AI tooling usage and ability to review AI-generated code.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Were hiring an intermediate Software Engineer to join the platform team building EROADs cloud-native, event-driven SaaS system spanning AWS and Azure.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Youll own delivery end-to-end within your squad, reporting to the Chapter Lead and helping shape how the team works.
• Design and build microservices and RESTful APIs for a cloud-native, event-driven platform.
• Take features from design through to production, owning quality and outcomes.
• Decompose engineering work between what an AI agent can handle and what needs human judgement.
• Review and correct AI-generated code before it merges, catching failure modes like hallucinated imports, misleading test coverage or insecure defaults.
• Design and implement automated tests across unit, component and integration levels.
• Contribute to squad-level engineering standards and practices.
• Take part in an on-call rotation.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Solid backend production experience and genuine hands-on AI-native delivery skills.
• Hands-on production backend experience in C# .Net.
• Cloud-native development on AWS or Azure with .NET Microservice architecture and RESTful API design experience.
• Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL or SQL Server.
• Experience designing and implementing automated tests across unit, component and integration levels.
• Git, trunk-based development and CI/CD experience.
• Docker and containerisation experience.
• Basic monitoring, alerting and observability experience.
• Genuine hands-on experience using AI coding tools or agents in real engineering work, including reviewing and correcting AI-generated output before merge.
• Ability to recognise and catch common AI-generated code failure modes.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.

Hybrid work arrangement: 4 days onsite (Monday to Thursday) and 1 day work from home (Friday) 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM PHT shift with a semi-flexible start and end time, subject to team and business requirements.
