Job summary

PERSOL Outsourcing is seeking an experienced System Integration Engineer to lead integration and testing of complex real-time software systems. You will set up environments, perform multi-platform validation, and craft documentation to ensure quality and compliance across projects.

The role requires hands-on experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, VMware, scripting (Python, Shell, XML), and DevOps tools. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential for success across remote sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or relevant experience.
• 3+ years minimum experience in integrating complex software-centric real-time systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot Virtualisation Platforms/OS: 3+ years.
• Proficiency with Linux/Unix and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with VMWare and scripting: Python, Shell, XML.
• DevOps tools: Ansible, Jenkins.
• Configuration Management: Git/Bitbucket, JIRA.
• Cybersecurity: LDAP, AD, PKI.
• Network: SNMP, UDP, TCP, IP.
• Debugging: Wireshark and monitoring tools.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams across remote sites.

• Clear communication of complex engineering issues.

Responsibilities

• Conduct integration and testing of incremental software releases per schedule.

• Define testing across multiple platforms for milestones and deadlines.
• Analyse technical and functional issues early and log them.
• Collaborate with System, Subsystem and Infrastructure teams.
• Produce System Integration Test Documentation with required compliance.
• Produce scripts to automate system administration tasks.
• Manage test and measuring tools for performance, loading and response-time.
• Provide technical support to junior integrators and V&V teams.
• Support Leads and WPM with performance and risk strategies.
• Contribute to planning and coordination of program integration.
• Work with customer and internal integration training as required.
• Identify risks, propose solutions; mitigate and report outcomes.
• Author/review documentation updates and knowledge sharing.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct the successful integration and the test of incremental software releases for systems and/or subsystems, in accordance with the schedule.


• Manage and/or contribute to the setup of environments to facilitate the integration, testing and acceptance activities required by the program. Provide instruction on the setup of environments to support validation activities.


• Define and/or contribute to testing activities across multiple platforms (regression, interface, simulation scenarios and test tools) to support project milestones and deadlines


• Able to analyse System/Subsystem technical and functional issues, ensuring they are identified early, captured fully and logged according to internal processes.


• To collaborate with System, Subsystem and Infrastructure teams to ensure that the integration activities are in line with the design and specifications


• Output documentation and engineering artefacts (E.g. System Integration Test Documentation) with the expected level of compliance (functional, performance, robustness, security and quality) that are aligned with internal configuration management processes.


• Produce scripts in order to automate system administration tasks.


• Manage and/or implement test & measuring tools used for system performance, loading and response-time assessment


• Provide technical support to junior integrators and the V&V teams


• Support Technical Leads and WPM through:


• Making recommendations on strategies to improve performance or productivity


• Identify risks, and proposing effective solution early and executing mitigation actions


• Providing input into the planning and coordination of program integration activities


• Work directly with the customer and internal integration training (as required)


• Identify risks, and propose effective solutions; execute mitigation actions and report on outcomes / cost savings and residual risks


• Authoring and/or reviewing documentation and documentation updates


• Promote knowledge sharing ensuring that work is captured sufficiently for re-use across projects

• 3+ years minimum experience holding similar positions integrating complex software-centric real-time systems


• Ability to understand the structure of and troubleshoot Virtualisation Platforms/Operating Systems (Clients/Servers): 3+ years
