Job summary

Inland Corporation is seeking an on-site Insurance Underwriter in Manila with 1–3 years of underwriting experience. You will evaluate applications, assess risk, determine coverage and terms, and approve or modify decisions within authority.

You’ll review renewals, monitor portfolios, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining thorough records. You will collaborate with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather information and support underwriting decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, risk management, insurance, economics, accounting, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in insurance underwriting or related function.
• Familiarity with insurance regulations and industry standards.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance applications by analyzing risk factors, financial information, claims history, and supporting documentation.
• Assess and determine the acceptability of insurance risks based on underwriting guidelines and company policies.
• Approve, modify, or decline insurance applications within assigned underwriting authority.
• Determine appropriate coverage, policy terms, limits, exclusions, deductibles, and premium rates.
• Review policy renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend measures to minimize potential losses.
• Coordinate with brokers, agents, clients, and internal departments to obtain additional information and clarify underwriting requirements.
• Monitor underwriting portfolio performance and identify trends affecting profitability and risk exposure.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation in the company's systems.
• Support product development by providing market insights and underwriting recommendations.
• Collaborate with Claims, Sales, Risk Management, and Compliance teams to ensure effective policy administration.
• Participate in continuous process improvements to enhance underwriting efficiency and service quality.
