Job summary

WHR Global Consulting is seeking an Accounting Assistant - Claims Payment to join the Finance team in Muntinlupa. The role handles accurate processing and disbursement of insurance claims payments, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong financial controls.

You will verify payments, maintain documentation, and produce daily to monthly reports while coordinating with Claims, Underwriting, and Operations to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA license or progress toward CPA is an advantage.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in claims payment, accounts payable, or insurance finance.
• Experience with insurance systems is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general insurance claims processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Excellent understanding of banking processes and electronic payment systems.
• Ability to handle high-volume transactions while meeting tight deadlines.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Verify and validate claim settlement amounts against approved claims and policy terms.
• Prepare and release payments via bank transfer, check, EFT, or other approved methods.
• Ensure payments are processed within agreed SLAs and regulatory timelines.
• Perform daily reconciliation of claims payment accounts.
• Accurately record all payments in the general ledger and insurance core system.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for claims provisions.
• Coordinate with Claims, Underwriting, Legal, and Operations teams on payment-related matters.
• Liaise with banks and payment providers to resolve rejected or failed transactions.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline the claims payment process.
