Catastrophe (CAT) Modelling and Exposure Management play a critical role in helping insurers, reinsurers, and MGAs quantify risk, optimize portfolio performance, and make informed underwriting decisions. By combining insurance expertise, geospatial intelligence, data analytics, and catastrophe Modelling techniques, the team transforms complex exposure data into actionable insights that support risk selection, pricing, accumulation management, and portfolio optimization.
As a Catastrophe Modelling Analyst, you will work with global insurance carriers and underwriting teams to analyze exposure data, assess catastrophe risk, develop portfolio insights, and support strategic decision-making across multiple lines of business. The role offers exposure to industry-leading catastrophe modelling platforms, and emerging technologies, including automation and AI-driven solutions.
What You'll Do
Exposure Data Management & Analysis
- Capture, validate, and maintain exposure data accurately within defined service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Review and interpret policy, location, and coverage information across multiple insurance lines of business.
- Analyze exposure datasets to support catastrophe modelling, accumulation management, and portfolio monitoring activities.
- Perform data cleansing, geocoding, standardization, and validation to ensure high-quality exposure information.
Catastrophe Modelling& Risk Assessment
- Support catastrophe risk assessment and exposure aggregation activities using industry-standard catastrophe Modelling platforms.
- Prepare and analyze exposure data for modelling across Property, Energy, Marine, Construction, Terrorism, Cargo, Hull, and other specialty insurance lines.
- Assist in accumulation analysisand portfolio risk reporting.
- Evaluate catastrophe loss estimates and contribute to model output reviews and exposure reporting.
Data Interpretation & Reporting
- Convert complex exposure and policy data into meaningful reports, dashboards, and management information.
- Produce scheduled and ad hoc portfolio exposure and accumulation reports in accordance with client and industry requirements.
- Analyze trends, concentrations, and key risk drivers across portfolios and geographies.
- Support underwriting and portfolio management teams with data-driven insights.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with onshore client teams, underwriters, brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve data queries and clarify coverage interpretations.
- Communicate findings, assumptions, and recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of client requirements while maintaining high-quality standards.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Maintain detailed process documentation, operating procedures, and knowledge repositories.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and digital transformation.
- Support implementation of analytical tools, process enhancements, and technology-driven solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and scalability.
What You'll Bring to the Team
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Insurance, Engineering, Geography, Computer Applications, Data Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- Index-Match
- Data Analysis functions
- Working knowledge of exposure management and catastrophe Modelling concepts.
- Understanding of geography, geospatial data, address validation, and geocoding principles.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, VBA, or automation tools will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with catastrophe Modelling platforms such as RMS, AIR/Touchstone, Verisk, or similar tools is preferred.

Relevant Experience
Minimum 1-2 years in insurance industry
