Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer in Chennai to support sizing, selection, and on-time quotation to customers through Regional Sales Managers or Dealers.

You will manage daily quotation commitments, track win rates and processing times, and coordinate with customers, regional managers, and factories to ensure smooth order execution.

This role requires strong technical aptitude, sales drive, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with 5-10 years of experience, preferably within process industry.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Familiar with basic business software applications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out sizing and selection and provide on time quotation to customers through Regional Sales Managers or Dealers.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly commitments for on time quotations.
• Track the quotations issued for win rate, processing time, and proportion of clean orders received.
• Support Regional Sales Managers and Dealers in technical discussion with customers.
• Follow-up with customers to convert quotations to purchase orders.
• Review purchase orders received and hand over for execution.
• Technical and price offer consolidation and submission in the customer format.
• Inform customer/Sales Manager/Dealer of any discrepancy and follow-up for amendments.
• Coordinate with SOM for order acknowledgement and document flow.
• Guide SOM to provide necessary documents to customer and track communications for timely execution.
