Coronis Health Philippines is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to translate patient records into standardized codes for hospital billing. The role requires meticulous attention to detail and a solid grasp of ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, ensure CMS and Joint Commission compliance, and participate in coding audits. A minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience and an active coding license are required.

Job Summary:

An Inpatient Coder specializes in coding the medical records of patients who are admitted to hospitals or healthcare facilities for treatment. They are responsible for translating patients healthcare information, including diagnoses, symptoms, and treatments, into universally accepted codes. These codes are essential for billing, insurance claims, and maintaining healthcare data integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Reviewing Medical Records: Inpatient Coders analyze patients charts and medical records to gather relevant information regarding diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
• Assigning Codes: They utilize coding systems such as ICD-10-CM (for diagnoses) and CPT/HCPCS (for procedures) to assign accurate codes to services provided during a patient's hospital stay.
• Ensuring Compliance: Inpatient Coders ensure that coding practices adhere to legal and regulatory standards, including guidelines from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.
• Communicating with Healthcare Professionals: They often collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel to clarify information and receive additional documentation if needed.
• Auditing and Quality Control: Some Inpatient Coders may be involved in auditing the coding for quality assurance, ensuring that the codes reflect the documentation accurately and are compliant with policies.
