Job summary

Coronis Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to join our team in Mandaluyong, Philippines. Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, you will assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT/ICD-10-PCS/HCPCS procedure codes to patient records to support accurate billing and reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Records or a related field, at least three years of inpatient hard coding experience, and relevant CPC/CIC or AHIMA credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Records or Allied Medical Field, or education courses and equivalent clinical work experience.
• Minimum three (3) years inpatient hard coding experience, six months live accounts with a client.
• Certification is dependent on client requirement; CPC/CIC and AHIMA credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts, codes, and sequences inpatient and day surgical procedures and diagnoses.
• Reviews provider documentation to determine principal diagnosis and comorbidities.
• Assigns accurate POA values for inpatient diagnoses.
• Assigns correct Principal and Secondary Diagnoses, CC/MCC considerations.
• Ensures accurate DRG assignment and coding compliance reviews.
• Writes compliant documentation queries to improve coding accuracy.
• Enters codes into encoder/abstracting systems and extracts required data.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
