Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in the Philippines is hiring an Inpatient Medical Coder responsible for assigning diagnosis and procedure codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS for inpatient records. You will abstract clinical information from the medical records and respond to audits to ensure accurate and compliant coding.

This role requires proficiency in inpatient coding guidelines, CMS/IPPS concepts, and AHIMA standards, with at least 1 year of live coding experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of basic coding course including medical terminology and anatomy.
• At least 1 full year of medical coding experience in a live environment.

Responsibilities

• Coding and abstracting medical records according to quality standards.
• Reviews records to ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Identify and resolve coding edits and respond to audits.
• Communicate and resolve documentation gaps and physician queries as needed.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and participate in required seminars.
