Job summary

Coronis Health Philippines seeks a skilled Medical Coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT codes for inpatient and outpatient records, providing accurate billing and statistical data according to CMS and state guidelines.

Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, you will review provider documentation, code to specification, and maintain confidentiality while meeting quality and productivity targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Records or Allied Medical Field, or equivalent relevant clinical work experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years inpatient hard coding experience.
• Six months live accounts with a client.
• Certification requirements depend on client: AAPC CPC/CIC; AHIMA CCS-P/CCS.

Responsibilities

• Abstracts, codes, and sequences inpatient and day surgeries.
• Reviews documentation to determine principal diagnosis and comorbidities.
• Assigns POA values for inpatient diagnoses and selects accurate CPT/ICD-10-CM/PCS/HCPCS codes.
• Writes compliant queries to improve documentation and coding.
• Enters codes into the encoder/abstracting system and reports productivity.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records and adheres to coding guidelines.
