Job summary

Bank of Commerce (Philippines) is seeking an Application Developer Specialist to drive the development and modification of in-house applications and to coordinate requirements for effective system design.

The role involves implementing best practices in software development, providing technical support, and collaborating with business users and DSG units to ensure smooth deployments and post-implementation support.

Responsibilities

• Develops or enhances programs based on business requirements and translate them into technical solutions; Demonstrates sound Application Developer Specialist knowledge; Implements best practices for software development, including version control and code reviews.
• Performs unit testing to ensure correctness of the program codes, fixing (debugging) errors where they occur, rerunning and rechecking the program until it produces the correct results prior endorsement for QA and/or UA testing.
• Provides technical support on application development related requirements and queries. Collaborates with business analysts, project managers, system owners and business users in the testing of new and/or enhanced applications; Provides QAT and UAT support by addressing test findings on time; Provides technical support during implementation and post-implementation of the developed/enhanced programs.
• Prepares the programs, objects, scripts and other configurations for migration to authorized environments; Assists in the deployment of applications, ensuring smooth and error-free deployment.
• Prepares technical documentation, design, applicable manuals and/or user support materials for all developed programs. Provides application walkthrough as necessary.
• Regularly provides updates to concerned DSG units for new application support needs.
• Collaborates with the other DSG units to ensure compliance of the system design and the hardware/software interface; contributes to the design and strategies for improving or leveraging the existing system, program logic, and data processing.
• Provides production support for newly deployed developed applications used by business operations and performs troubleshooting on an on-call 24 hour basis.
• Provides technical guidance and mentoring to Application Developers and other team members. Contributes significantly to activities for knowledge building relating to IT.
