Sunpride Foods, Inc. seeks an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Manager to oversee safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of our industrial refrigeration systems (ammonia and Freon), utilities, and related plant infrastructure.

You will lead safety programs, drive uptime and energy efficiency, ensure food safety compliance (QMS, HACCP, GMP), and manage ammonia and Freon technicians on plant projects. This is an on-site role based in the Philippines.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
5–10 years in industrial refrigeration or utilities operations.
At least 3–5 years in supervisory/managerial role.
Deep knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems and compressors.
Experience with PLC controls, instrumentation, and VFDs.
Familiar with PSP and RCA problem-solving methods.
Certifications or training in PLC/instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead safety programs (LOTO, PTW, confined space) and ensure compliance.
Maximize uptime via preventive maintenance and RCA on failures.
Ensure food safety and QMS/HACCP/GMP compliance in refrigeration.
Direct technicians and lead improvement projects on plant utilities.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Manager to oversee the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of our industrial refrigeration systems (including ammonia and Freon equipment), utilities, and related plant infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Regulatory Compliance (25%): Lead safe work programs (LOTO, PTW, Confined Space), maintain emergency leak response plans, and oversee routine inspections of safety systems, alarms, and contractor compliance.
Productivity & Reliability (40%): Maximize system uptime and equipment availability through preventive/RCM maintenance, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on breakdowns, and lead projects to reduce energy consumption and boost OEE.
Quality & Food Safety (25%): Ensure refrigeration systems consistently maintain precise temperature and environmental controls to comply with QMS, HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
Leadership & Special Projects (10%): Direct ammonia and Freon technicians, and lead continuous improvement projects for plant machinery and utility systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Experience: 5 to 10 years of overall experience in industrial refrigeration or utility operations, with at least 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration Systems, industrial compressors, and utility equipment.
Proficiency with PLC controls, instrumentation, and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) configuration.
Familiarity with structured Problem Solving Processes (PSP) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Certifications / Training: Training or licenses in PLC/Instrumentation and Problem Solving Processes are highly preferred.
