Job Description
Responsible for the majority of layout creation of the factory and flexible to support capacity modeling. Lead and manage the layout of the factory and capacity.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the layout design process for manufacturing facilities, ensuring optimal space utilization and efficient workflow.
- Develop and maintain capacity models to forecast production capabilities and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including engineering, operations, and supply chain, to align layout and capacity plans with overall business objectives.
- Conduct regular reviews and analyses of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Manage and mentor a team of layout designers and capacity analysts, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality work.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in industrial engineering and manufacturing, and incorporate innovative ideas into our processes.
- Prepare and present layout and capacity reports to senior management, providing clear and concise recommendations for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as environmental standards, in all layout and capacity planning activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in industrial engineering, with a focus on layout design and capacity modeling.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals.
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Proficiency in using layout design software and tools, such as AutoCAD or similar programs.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices in the industry.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive and results‑oriented mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Education & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering with at least 1‑2 years of relevant work experience in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and PowerBI.
Skills
- Leadership capabilities to manage a virtual team.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem solving.
- Expert in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
