Job summary
Cardinal Health International Philippines Inc. is seeking an IBMi Engineer to serve as the technical expert for the IBMi environment, ensuring its security, stability, performance, and availability.
The role drives platform modernization through integration with cloud, APIs, and open-source technologies while supporting continuity and strategic technology initiatives. You will administer IBM i partitions, perform system upgrades and maintenance, implement high-availability and disaster recovery
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on IBMi administration (OS/400, i5/OS).
- Experience supporting IBMi version 7.3 or higher.
- Strong knowledge of high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Proven experience with BRMS, backup strategies, and DR planning.
- Understanding of IBMi networking (TCP/IP) and secure connectivity.
- Experience supporting IBM MQ environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and support IBM i partitions across IBM Power Systems.
- Manage backup/recovery using BRMS, VTL, and DR solutions.
- Perform OS upgrades, PTF maintenance, firmware updates, and lifecycle management.
- Design and maintain high-availability solutions and documentation.
- Develop automation using CL, SQL, RPG, or other supported technologies.
- Lead incident and change management including root cause analysis.
