Job summary

Pellera Technologies seeks an experienced IBM Power Systems Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This role will administer, support, monitor, and optimize IBM Power Systems environments including IBM i, HMC, VIOS, LPARs, SAN connectivity, and High Availability solutions.

The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support, infrastructure design, troubleshooting, automation, disaster recovery planning, and performance optimization across complex enterprise Power environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT or CS.
5+ years of experience with IBM Power Systems.
Strong IBM i administration experience in enterprise environments.
Hands-on HMC administration and LPAR management.
Strong VIOS administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with Power8/9/10 platforms.
Experience with virtualization and SAN/storage integration.
Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, SEA.
ITIL-based support and ticketing familiarity.
Ability to automate administration tasks using Bash or Korn Shell.

Responsibilities

Ensure operational integrity, availability, and security of IBM Power Systems infrastructure.
Administer IBM i environments including security, BRMS integration, and license management.
Install, configure, and upgrade VIOS; manage LPARs via GUI and CLI.
Administer Physical and Virtual HMC environments.
Support high availability and disaster recovery using BRMS, MIMIX, iTera, or PowerHA.
Develop and maintain runbooks and technical documentation.
Create automation scripts for routine tasks and HMC automation.
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations and customer escalations.
