Qualifications

• A recognised qualification or certification in hygiene, sanitation, or a related field
• Proven experience working in retail, food service, healthcare, or consumer products environments
• Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations relevant to retail and consumer products industries
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify potential hygiene risks
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and motivate staff at all levels
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation
• The ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Physical capability to perform inspections and undertake hands-on hygiene tasks
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and emerging hygiene challenges

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive hygiene and sanitation protocols across all operational areas
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and product storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Monitor and document hygiene practices, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions
• Train and educate staff members on proper hygiene procedures, sanitation best practices, and health and safety requirements
• Liaise with health and safety inspectors, regulatory authorities, and external hygiene specialists to ensure full compliance with legislation
• Manage hygiene-related documentation, records, and audit trails to demonstrate adherence to standards
• Respond to hygiene-related concerns or incidents promptly and implement preventative measures
• Support the maintenance of high standards in customer-facing areas to enhance the shopping experience and brand reputation
