Job summary

Cambridge University Press is seeking a Tech Lead in Makati to evolve our IELTS digital platforms, design scalable systems, and mentor engineers. You will work at the intersection of technology, product, and delivery, shaping architecture and engineering practices that underpin mission-critical systems.

You will ensure security, performance, and extensibility while guiding teams through trade-offs and technical decisions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing scalable, production-grade systems.
• Strong cloud experience on AWS and/or Azure.
• Experience with microservices and API-first delivery.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, DevOps, and distributed systems.
• Track record of improving performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical direction in collaboration with architecture and engineering leadership.
• Lead design of cloud-native, API-first architectures.
• Ensure systems are secure, performant, and built for extensibility.
• Embed DevOps, CI/CD, and automation practices to improve delivery flow.
• Reduce technical debt through pragmatic, continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers and raise the bar for engineering excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Architecture, and Operations.
